今日IME Event が行われました。それぞれのworkがstudioをほんの少し離れただけで違った表情を見せるのでおもしろいなと思いました。

Books to read
Books written by Ludwig Wittgenstein :
“Philosophical Investigations” or books written about a concept of his research
such as linguistic turn, language-game, family resemblance or private language.
I’m interested in his concept because I read an article ‘Wittgenstein’s concept has influenced many researchers to recognize the structure of the artistic metaphor', and Haruki Murakami also told that he had influenced from his concept of 'private language'.
Books written by Arthur Schopenhauer :
“The world as Will and Representation” or books written about a concept of his research.
I’m interested in his book because he was influenced by Plato and Kant as well as ideology and philosophy of ancient India and Wittgenstein had read carefully his book ‘The world as will and representation’.

Setting in Museum Belvedere

The sound doesn't exist
While listening to a live music by Shuriken in Lepel Concerts, I was remembering what he told me.
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Actually the sound doesn't exist. "
I think it would be right. You can also say that everything you can see, you can feel or you can smell doesn't exist. But is this in category of idealism or still in materialism? Because it's a story about recipient and its perceptions.
"I should have earplugs..." A person next to me said.
While a big experience of the sound in high volume,
I felt a bit strange to think "Still, the sound doesn't exist"

ARS-Electronica 2011, linz
Elements that are common in my favorite works of the Ars Electronica 2011 are both simplicity and the element of surprising. I was also very attracted to live-performances and sound installations.
My favorite works:
- Most of the installations at the OK-building
- A wooden house / box that answers your knocking
- "100.000 m³ Bewegte Luft" (sound installation) in the Mariendom
- "The Forty Part Motet" (sound installation) in the OK-church
- "Particles" in the Ars Electronica Center
- Several works of students from Tsukuba University
My least favorite work:
- "My eyes… My ears…"
